About the event
“Home” is a place, a memory, a person, a longing, a return, a purpose. This recital explores the many ways we search for belonging, identity, being, and rest; the search for the universal human desire to find where we are known and where we are understood.
Join baritone Ethan Neal for an afternoon of song and storytelling featuring pianist Calvin Stovall and the Red Door String Quartet, with music by Ravel, Owens, Shaw, Spears, and Okphebolo. This program weaves together art song and chamber music in a deeply personal and expressive musical journey, exploring the idea of finding home through relationships, abandon, self-discovery, memory, landscape, and the inner self.
This recital is presented in partial fulfillment of the Master of Music in Voice degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
